Curriculum and Courses for Space Operations Clientele

Kwok-bun Yue, Ph.D., Division of Computing and Mathematics, School of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Houston Clear Lake

Kwok-bun YueTransitions from aerospace technology (AT) programs in three community colleges-San Jacinto College, College of the Mainland, and Alvin Community College-to the three computer science upper-level programs -Computer Science, Computer Information Systems and Computer Systems Design at the University of Houston- Clear Lake (UHCL) were studied using the 1992-1993 and 1993-1994 college catalogs. A report was written to identify the road maps by which aerospace technology graduates might satisfy the foundation requirements of the three computer science programs at UH CL. Various related issues, such as the necessity of new courses in both the community colleges and UHCL and model schedules for taking the transitional courses, were analyzed and initial solutions provided.
